Marriott Sheldon is an artist, teacher and cultural activist. Her life journey has taken her around the world and now brings her back to North Carolina and Aspen Grove, a family farm. Marriott’s works include abstract painting, sculpture from found objects and natural materials, photography and public art projects which reflect an evolution of experience and ideas. Awareness of our oneness and interdependence with all living things and the crisis of loss of species, destruction of trees, plants, animals, insects and life-giving ecosystems has led to art-making to honor nature and designed for public engagement and celebration.
